So much more than dance. 💚 One of the greatest gifts of teaching is getting to have the same kids in your life year after year. You watch them grow from little dancers into incredible young adults, and somewhere along the way, they become so much more than students—they become part of your story. You watch them find their confidence, discover who they are, navigate the hard days, celebrate the great ones, and grow into people you are incredibly proud of. And then, eventually, you have to watch them fly. That’s the bittersweet part of what we do. We know they were never ours to keep—but what a privilege it is to walk beside them for a little while. 💚 The Dance Project will always be about so much more than dance.

✨ MEET TEAM TDP ✨ The TDP Performance Team is made up of dancers ages 5–18 who share a love for dance, performing, and being part of a team. 💚🖤 Our Performance Team, also known as our competition team, is a program that offers dancers multiple days of training each week, opportunities to work in a variety of styles, and multiple performance and competition experiences throughout the season. But Team TDP is about so much more than competitions. It’s about hard work, commitment, friendships, growth, teamwork, and creating memories that last long after they leave the stage. Over the next few days, we’re excited to introduce you to the dancers who make up our Season 9 Performance Team! And there’s no better place to start than with the dancers who have grown up right before our eyes… 🎓💚 MEET THE CLASS OF 2027 — OUR SENIORS! 💚🎓 One final season. One very special senior class. 💚 OUR SEASON 9 ASSISTANTS & JUNIOR ASSISTANTS 🖤 Our Assistants and Junior Assistants play a crucial role at TDP, serving as teacher’s aides in the classroom and working alongside our faculty throughout the season. They help with our younger dancers, demonstrate exercises, assist with classroom organization, and most importantly, begin learning what it means to lead and teach. For many, our Assistant Program becomes their first introduction to teaching dance. Over the years, TDP’s training and mentorship have inspired graduates to continue on as dance educators themselves — something we are incredibly proud of. It’s about more than assisting a class. It’s an opportunity to build leadership, responsibility, confidence, and teaching skills while becoming a positive role model for our younger dancers. We are so excited to watch our Season 9 Assistants & Junior Assistants learn, lead, and grow! 💚🖤

We Welcome Miss Taylor to our Saturday Faculty 💚 Taylor Plourde is a 2026 graduate of The Dance Project with 14 years of combined training in a variety of dance styles. Taylor was also a dedicated member of The Dance Project’s competitive team for many years, where she developed a strong foundation in performance, teamwork, discipline, and technique. In addition to her dance experience, Taylor has extensive experience working with children, including children with special needs, which has helped shape her passion for education. Taylor is currently attending Southern Connecticut State University, where she is studying Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis. She looks forward to combining her love of working with children with the skills and experiences she gained throughout her years as a dancer.
