Student Spotlight- Alumni Addition 2022 Graduate Morgan Leger Morgan is a senior at The University of Hartford where she is studying Integrated Elementary & Special Education. For all 4 years, Morgan has been named to the Dean’s and President’s list for her academic achievements. Morgan is currently completing her student teaching practicum at Annie Fisher STEM Magnet School in 2nd grade! She is graduating this Spring, and planning to continue her education in UHart’s masters program for Special Education. Outside of her academics, Morgan is a member of the Psi Beta chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity where she has been serving as the 24’-25’ term Vice President. With this organization, she loves fundraising for and bringing awareness to their philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Morgan also loves spending her time working for Bristol Public Schools as a substitute teacher, and will be returning this Summer to Camp Tel Noar where she works as an overnight counselor/art instructor. Morgan had the most amazing experience at TDP. She is so appreciative of the kindness, community, and support the studio gave her during her time there. TDP was truly her second home! Morgan wishes all of the dancers the best competition season, and will be cheering you all on from UHart!

Student Spotlight- Alumni Addition 2024 Graduate Kailey McCarthy Kailey is a sophomore at Oklahoma City University, where she is a Dance major at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. She has been named to both the Dean’s List and President’s Honor Roll for her academic achievement. In addition to daily classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and precision line, her curriculum includes foundations in dance management and pedagogy. This spring, Kailey looks forward to declaring a degree track within the dance program. As a member of the Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi, she enjoys participating in service projects in the community and raising awareness for women’s heart health through this organization. To expand her knowledge in arts management, Kailey is a member of Students of Arts Management and works as a Production Room Assistant. Through these positions, she establishes connections within the entertainment industry and receives hands-on experience in all aspects of production, including prop building and lighting. Kailey’s favorite experiences within her program are the performance opportunities she receives through auditions each semester. Kailey has performed in the Student Choreography Show the past two years and also performs as a Spirit of Grace Liturgical Dancer. She is a member of the Star Dance Company and has performed in the productions of “Holiday Spectacular” and “MOVE! Dance for the World of Entertainment”. She is currently preparing for and looking forward to her upcoming performances in this years’ “Holiday Spectacular”. Kailey cherishes the time she had training at The Dance Project. She is very grateful for the opportunities she was given, including being a student teacher and choreographer, and the friendships she made. Kailey acknowledges the support she continues to receive from her teachers and how they have prepared her to follow her dreams.

Spotlight- Alumni Addition Kendall Garrity 2023 Graduate Kendall is a junior at Eastern Connecticut State University, majoring in English and Pre–Secondary Education with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. She plans to graduate in 2027 with a bachelor’s degree in English before completing a one-year master’s program in Secondary Education. Her ultimate goal is to become a high school English teacher. Kendall currently works as an infant and toddler teacher at an early childhood education center and serves as an Office Assistant on campus. She is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society that recognizes students in the top 30% of their class. In addition, she volunteers at elementary schools in the Willimantic area. During her first two years at Eastern, she represented the university at the UDA competition in Orlando, Florida, serving as team captain in her second year. Kendall was part of the inaugural year at The Dance Project and built lasting friendships that began there. She is grateful for the love and support she received from her teachers over the years—and continues to receive today

Spotlight- Alumni Addition Bryanna Paternostro 2021 Graduate In May, Bryanna graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden double majoring and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Social Work degree at Quinnipiac University with the goal of becoming a licensed social worker. She is enrolled in an accelerated program and has demonstrated academic excellence while managing an intensive course load maintaining a 4.0 GPA. As part of her path toward licensure, Bryanna will complete two internships that will allow her to integrate theory with hands - on practice to develop essential clinical and professional skills. One of her placements will build upon her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice allowing her to bridge her knowledge of the justice system with social work practice to deepen her ability to support individuals and families impacted by the legal system. In addition to her academic journey, Bryanna is an active caregiver for several families with children. This role has provided her with first hand experience in supporting family systems strengthening skills in child development, empathy, and patience, incredibly valuable skills in the social work field. Bryanna treasured her time at TDP and being part of the first competition team during the inaugural season. She made friendships there that will last a lifetime and values the family like environment that was a second home for her. She wishes all of the dancers at TDP an awesome competition season and hopes they will enjoy their time at TDP as much as she enjoyed hers!

Spotlight- Alumni Addition Ethan Mazza 2022 Graduate Ethan is a senior nursing major in the BSN Program at Quinnipiac University in Hamden. He is involved in a lot of activities on campus and is currently the Interfraternity Council President, a Brother of Alpha Sigma Phi, and a Quinnipiac Orientation Coordinator. He works on the pediatric unit at the Hospital for Special Care while taking classes and completing clinical rotations at Stamford Hospital and Whiting Forensic Hospital. He will be traveling to Italy in the Spring to complete a clinical rotation in community health and looks forward to beginning his work as a Registered Nurse after he graduates in May. Ethan had an awesome experience dancing. He is proud to have been one of the first dancers at TDP. He appreciates all of the opportunities he received while on the competition team. He likes keeping up with everything TDP through his sister, Emersyn and hopes everyone has a great competition season.
